A little about me

I'm grateful that you're here and that you're exploring therapy. Whether it's for the first time or the fiftieth, I'm glad you're looking for someone to talk to.

I received my BS in Psychology from UNG. Following my undergrad I trained at the Asheville Yoga Center and received my 200hr CYT. After a few years in the field I went on to get my MSW from LSU. My career in mental health began in residential substance use treatment programs and I went on to work in a variety of settings including Accountability Courts, group practice & nonprofit. Through this work, I found a love for helping clients with their trauma. Additionally, I discovered a strong connection between substance use and eating disorders, leading me to learning more and expanding my knowledge on treating ED's as well.

Throughout the years, I've trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) & Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to name a few. In addition to training in modalities I'm also a Certified Trauma Professional.

I have a great passion for helping those in helping professions. If you're another therapist, LEO, EMS, Fire, DFCS,  the list goes on, know that I see you and would be happy to help.

I'm licensed for face-to-face & telehealth services in Georgia and telehealth only in Florida.

About Laura

A little about me

I have consistently been drawn to individuals and families whose lives have been upended by unexpected circumstances. My work began with those navigating new medical diagnoses, supporting them as they adjusted to profound changes in their lives. I later expanded this work at Family Promise, walking alongside families experiencing homelessness helping them regain stability during deeply uncertain times.

Across all of these experiences, I have witnessed something powerful: people are incredibly resilient. Even in the face of overwhelming challenges, they develop new skills, adapt, and move forward—often stronger than before.

I'm a native of Gainesville and graduated from Oxford College and Emory University. I earned a master’s degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and have been licensed in the state of Georgia as a clinical social worker for over twenty-five years.  With a background in clinical social work and training in EMDR therapy,  I use a trauma informed approach to help create connections between thinking and feeling to help move through the stuck places and build future foundations.

I am here to support you through life’s unpredictable moments. Together, we can work toward regaining a sense of stability, building resilience, and creating a path forward.
